Rod fans in Germany, watch out! Sir Rod's former saxophonist Katja Rieckermann is coming to Germany for a concert on 12 September.
The North German is taking advantage of this year's visit to her home country to play an exclusive concert at Rider's Cafe in Lübeck. Together with her band, she will present her own songs to the audience, but will also perform one or two cover songs.
Katja Rieckermann toured the world with Rod Stewart from 2001 to 2015 and also worked with him on some of his studio albums. She quickly became a fan favourite, especially among German Rod Stewart fans. In 2019, Katja released a very successful sax-dance version of Stewart's classic Da Ya Think I'm Sexy, for which Sir Rod sang a new version of the song.
After 14 years of collaboration, Rieckermann left the music icon's band in January 2015 and focussed on her solo projects from then on. In her career, Katja has also played with such greats as Al Green, Mary J Blige, Saga, Scorpions, Jeff Goldblum, Nile Rigers and Lady Gaga.
