On 25 June, Rod Stewart will be performing at the traditional Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom. Now the British daily newspaper The Sun is reporting that the 80-year-old might not be performing there all alone. None other than Rod's best mate and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood will be accompanying Sir Rod on stage in Somerset.
According to an unnamed source, Stewart has asked his old friend from his Faces days to play with him at the legends slot at Glastonbury. ‘Rod is really looking forward to playing the big gig at Worthy Farm and would like to reminisce a bit about the start of his career, so thought it would be good to have Ronnie along,’ the source close to Stewart is quoted as saying. ‘He believes that both ex-Faces together on stage will thrill the audience’.
The Sun assumes that this would be possible because the Stones recently had to cancel their planned concerts in Europe and Ronnie could therefore have free dates.
However, it has yet to be confirmed whether the two former Faces members will actually perform together. So far, neither Rod nor Ronnie Wood have officially announced anything about it.
