Comment: They're already biting their nails in the UK - when will the concert dates for the UK finally be released?

New concert dates are currently falling from the proverbial trees like ripe fruit. Sir Rod Stewart has already confirmed 63 shows in 2025. The majority of these are in the USA, but a whopping 20 have already been announced for Europe. However, only one of them will take place in England, the singer's home country.

The fact that Rod Stewart will be performing at the legendary festival in Glastonbury in June could only briefly calm the masses of British fans. The day of the announcement sent the British Isles into ecstasy for a while and raised hopes that further UK dates would be announced in the wake of the Glastonbury announcement. But fiddlesticks. Nothing happened.

So far, and this is 29 January, there are no further concerts planned in the UK. The Stewart people are getting restless - what about London, Glasgow or Liverpool? Why no date yet for Manchester, Newcastle or Birmingham?

Is Sir Rod really going to finish his greatest hits concerts without performing in his home country? Hard to imagine. It's already the end of January and the concert year is already more than expectedly full, but it's hard to imagine Rod Stewart ending his great live career with a gig in the Greek capital in December.

He is British, born in London and emphasises his Scottish roots at every conceivable opportunity. It cannot, and should not, be right that the career of one of the best live artists of all time should end in the shadow of the Acropolis, far away from his oldest fans from his Faces and possibly even Steampacket days. We can only wish our British friends that the wait will soon be over. Come on Rod, get those UK dates out at last!
