Just one day after announcing 20 more US concerts for the coming year 2025, Rod Stewart has once again made it clear in a statement that he cannot go on like this forever. ‘This will be the end of the big world tours,’ the 79-year-old wrote on his social media channels.
However, the singer is not thinking about quitting completely. ‘I have no intention of retiring’. Once again, Sir Rod emphasised how much he enjoys touring and working on and with his music. ‘I love what I do and I do what I love,’ said the rock icon, who will be a slim 80 years old in January. No problem, Rod lets it be known. ‘I'm fit, I still have a full head of hair and I can run the 100 metres in 18 seconds - and that at the ripe old age of 79,’ he explains with pride.
And in the next step, he announces that he will continue to play concerts in 2026. ‘I'm imagining an American Songbook and Swing Fever tour the year after next - smaller venues, a little more intimate. But maybe not ...’, Sir Rod concludes and signs his post “The ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart”.
