Will the Faces be releasing a new album next year? Fans of the rock group can certainly hope so after the latest statements from singer Rod Stewart.
In an interview with the football podcast Soccer A-Z, Stewart revealed that he will be meeting with his two ex-Faces colleagues Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones in the next few days to work on a new album. ‘We're trying to make a new album and so I'll be with Mr Wood and Mr Jones tomorrow,’ Sir Rod told the podcast.
It was first revealed back in February that the Faces were working on a new album. ‘I sent Ronnie a bunch of songs that I had recorded with my band,’ Rod said at the time. ‘I said to him, ‘Maybe this is something for the Faces’, so some of these songs might see the light of day’.
If the band does indeed release a new long-player next year, it would be the Faces' first new material since their split in 1975. The band last reunited in 2020, when they performed a short medley of their hits to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Brit Awards in London. Back in 2015, the band performed as part of a charity event in south-west London and played a 45-minute show.
