Rod Stewart: From Celtic Park straight to the stage in Antwerp

Blessed are those who have a private jet and can jet across half of Europe within 24 hours. Rod Stewart has this opportunity and he uses it to juggle his dates on the day of his tour kick-off in the Belgian harbour city of Antwerp. Friday, 10 May: One day to go until the concert. The singer's band members have now arrived in the Belgian metropolis. An extensive sound check is scheduled for later in the day, for which Rod himself will also be travelling. The aim is to put the finishing touches to the first performance of the One Last Time tour in the Sportpaleis. Stewart climbs into his aeroplane in the morning and jets from London to Antwerp. Once there, it's straight to the Sportpaleis. After a successful sound check and a few meetings with his musicians, Rod Stewart drives straight back to the airport. Saturday, 11 May: Around ten hours until the concert begins. Rod Stewart has travelled directly to Glasgow from Belgium.

The traditional Glasgow city derby between Celtic and Rangers takes place at 12.30pm local time at Celtic Park. If the Hoops win at home, the Scottish championship will be as good as decided. The Bhoys in Green will then only need one point from two games to clinch the 54th championship title in the club's history. It goes without saying that Celtic's most prominent supporter will not want to miss this game. After the hopefully successful afternoon of football, Rod will be driven straight back to the airport, where he will once again board his jet to Antwerp. At around 8 p.m. it will be time for the show at the Sportpaleis. Curtain up, let the show begin. We can only hope that Celtic really do win the game this afternoon, otherwise Mr Stewart is likely to start his European tour in a bad mood. If you're a real football fan, you know how much a defeat can shake your favourite team. With this in mind: Up The Hoops!
